The result is an architecture that conveys both a sense of soaring upward and a disciplined order: a forest of blades and swords, rising as if on wings, like a phoenix soaring out of a bamboo grove. Hence its name, “Fengteng Jianhuang” (凤腾剑篁) — Phoenix Ascending from the Sword-Bamboo Grove.
- This piece is carved and hollowed from a single solid block of Pink Ivory Wood, measuring approximately 1.77in. in length, 1.18in. in width, and 3.46in. in height. At each of the four corners of the upturned eaves, the body of the beneath tower extends through the roof and tapers into a pointed spire, while the sides are carved with flying buttresses. Although Pink Ivory Wood is a tough and resilient wood, these delicate projecting elements may still chip or break if dropped. Please handle with care.
- Should you prefer, simply cut the thread securing the chain to remove it. The piece may then be fitted with a chain of your own choice. As the original chain is not to define the value of this creation, you may remove it without reservation.
